I haven't been on much recently due to my old computer demising and also family problems. I thought this was the best place to introduce myself and say Hi to all you newcomers.

I was diagnosed three years ago with reactive arthritis but as it failed to disappear after the usual few months the diagnosis was changed to RA. In the beginning I was very unwell and upset and this forum was a lifeline. I realised that in spite of everything people were still able to enjoy life and even laugh. It did take some months for the drugs to get sorted out and I had my share of blips. I'm now on hydroxychloroquine, 5mg prednisilone and amitriptyline and seem to be fairly stable. If I have a bad spell I up the steroids for a few days.

When I was first ill I can remember waking up in the night and thinking if this is how I'm going to feel for the rest of my life I don't think I'll bother. Thankfully I got over that as the meds kicked in and now I just get on with it. There are things that I daren't do as I know I will suffer afterwards but I try and find an alternative interest. Thankfully RA hasn't stopped me from talking so when I get fed up I just phone a friend!

I wish you all the best with your treatment and know you will benefit from the support and advice you'll find here.

Hello Brenda,

Nice to meet you. Sorry you have RA though. I joined here in April and have found

comes soon. I am waiting for another DMARD after failing on mtx . supha. and lefluno.
So at mo on amitrip. celebrex and pain killers.
